When an Apollo light modifier is mounted onto a studio light, the studio light actually fits inside of the Apollo unit. The benefit of this is that the light can be bounced off of the back for a softer, indirect diffusion or straight out the front diffusion panel for a more specular result. However, if you are using a mono style light where the controls are on the back of the light head and want to maintain access for those controls, this accessory is a must have.
